Before England left home this week en route to their FIFA World Cup™ base, two lorries packed with thousands of food items, toiletries, electrical goods as well as all the kit were already well on the way to coincide with the team’s arrival at their Baden-Baden hotel.

The foodstuffs for David Beckham and his team included 250 boxes of cereals (various sizes and flavours), 200 muffins (with a three-month life span), 108 packets of jaffa cakes (15 to the packet), 1,000 sugar sachets, 120 blackcurrant cordial cartons (600 ml) and 1,000 tea bags.

There was also the obligatory styling mousse (24 items), suntan factor 30 (24 bottles) and factor 15 (48 bottles) and a vanload of widescreen LCD televisions (one for each player), plasma screens, satellite boxes, computers and DVD players/recorders.

The kit included 100 training cones, 122 pairs of white match socks and seven pairs of boots for each player.
