15 de Septiembre de 2004 | Tiempo de lectura: 2 minutos New Kerry-Edwards Spanish Language Ad Hits the Airwaves; Highlights Kerry-Edwards Plan for Health Care for All Hispanic Families/noticias.info/ The Kerry-Edwards campaign announced a new Spanish language ad today focusing on the impact of rising health care costs on Hispanics, too many of whom are uninsured. The ad, titled “Hospital,” focuses on the fact that one out of every three Hispanics lacks health insurance, and reminds Americans of John Kerry’s commitment to providing access to quality health insurance for all children. The ad comes less than a week after the Kaiser Family Foundation revealed that family health care premiums have increased by more than $3,512 since Bush took office. The study further showed that the amount families are paying increased by 64 percent from 2000 to 2004, which is the fastest increase in health care premiums on record. “The ad highlights the fundamental choice in this election: four more years of an administration that puts the interests of the few ahead of middle-class families, or the Kerry-Edwards plan that understands a stronger America begins at home,” said Kerry-Edwards Director of Hispanic Media Fabiola Rodríguez-Ciampoli. “We need a president we can trust to fight for all of us.” “Hospital” will begin airing Wednesday. The ad details the Kerry-Edwards plan to offer access to health care for all children. John Kerry and John Edwards also support restoring health benefits for all legal immigrant children, and their plan will deal with the alarming increases in health care costs and the growing number of uninsured. As for the 1.5 million Hispanics who rely on Medicare, the Kerry-Edwards plan will protect and modernize Medicare, including making prescription drugs more affordable. In contrast, the Bush Administration just announced it was raising Medicare premiums by 17 percent – the largest increase in the program’s history. As the new ad hit the airwaves, the Kerry-Edwards team is aggressively reaching out to Hispanics all across the country and not taking a single vote for granted. Teresa Heinz Kerry addressed the annual Conference of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) on Monday, and John Kerry will speak at the CHCI gala on Wednesday evening, which also marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. Additional Spanish-language ads focused on the fundamental choice in this election will be rolled out in the coming days and weeks.
