Get more FIFA World Cup statistics * Of the 32 participants at the FIFA World Cup, Brazil, unsurprisingly, sit on top of the table for most points gained with 194 from 87 matches played. The worst performing of the 32 teams are Australia who have taken one point – but failed to score a single goal – in three games. They lie 58th out of 70 in the all-time points table. * The youngest of the players in action at the FIFA World Cup is England's Theo Walcott who will be just 17 years and 85 days old when it begins on Friday 9 June. At the other end of the age range is Tunisia goalkeeper Ali Boumnijel who will be the ripe old age of 40 years and 57 days. * Only two players in this competition have scored hat-tricks in the FIFA World Cup – Pauleta in Portugal’s 4-0 win over Poland on 10 June 2002 and Miroslav Klose, whose trio of goals came in Germany’s 8-0 victory over Saudi Arabia nine days earlier. * The leading FIFA World Cup goalscorer of those players taking part in the 2006 edition is Brazil’s Ronaldo with 12 – four in 1998 and eight on the way to the championship in 2002. * The player in this competition with most FIFA World Cup appearances is Brazil captain Cafu with 16, covering the 1994, 1998 and 2002 finals with a total of 1,291 minutes played. In the all-time appearances list he lies in 31st position, but with a run to the Final - assuming he plays in every game - he can move to 23 appearances, just two behind all-time record holder Lothar Matthaus of Germany. * The coach at this competition with most games in charge of his country is Bruce Arena, who has led the USA in 119 internationals. The coach with fewest games in charge of his team is Togo’s Otto Pfister with the grand total of two. * Pfister is also the oldest coach at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He will be 68 years and 201 days old when Togo make their debut in the competition on 13 June. The youngest coach is Marco van Basten who will be 137 days short of his 42nd birthday when the Netherlands start off on 11 June. * The coach with most appearances in the FIFA World Cup is Germany’s Jurgen Klinsmann. He played 17 times in the competition between 1990 and 1998 and scored 11 goals. * The heaviest player at this FIFA World Cup is Jan Koller of the Czech Republic who weighs in at 100 kg. The 'lightweight' of the party is Saudi Arabia’s Mohammad Al Shlhoub who weighs just 59 kgs. * The tallest player category finds Nikola Zigic of Serbia and Montenegro standing shoulder to shoulder with Koller at 2.02 metres. The shortest player is Christian Lara of Ecuador at 1.62m.
