Online Forum on Internet Governance Launched on wsis-online.net
/noticias.info/ An Online Forum on Internet Governance organized on wsis-online.net, the community platform of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), is open for contributions from all interested stakeholders since last Friday, 5 March. It is accessible at www.wsis-online.net/igov-forum.
As other preparatory events like the ITU Workshop in Geneva in February and the Global Forum organized by the UN ICT Task Force in New York on 25-26 March, the Online Forum shall permit to engage in open consultations before the establishment of the UN Working Group on Internet Governance that the UN Secretary General was asked by the participants of the first phase of WSIS held in Geneva last December to set-up in an open and inclusive process.
Aiming at allowing all interested stakeholders to contribute in the participatory process, the Online Forum is open to any individual or organization upon registration. To facilitate navigation and contributions, the discussion is structured around four threads:
What are the different dimensions of Internet Governance?
Who are the main stakeholders already convening groups or consultations on these themes or who should be involved in such consultations?
What are the main concerns or challenges for each of these different issues?
How can this consultation process facilitate the future work of the working group the Secretary General was asked to set up?
First results of the consultation will be reviewed at the Global Forum on Internet Governance organized by the UN ICT Task Force in March.
