French Want Both Euro, Franc Prices
/noticias.info/ (Angus Reid - CPOD Global Scan) – Many adults in France want prices to be listed in both Euros and Francs, according to a poll by Ifop published in Ouest France. 51 per cent of respondents believe the approach should be maintained as long as possible, while 23 per cent would keep it for a few more months.
The Euro has been used in 12 of 15 European Union (EU) countries since Jan. 1, 2002. Sweden, Denmark and Britain were the only EU members that did not adopt the currency.
In 1998, the conversion rate for the Euro was set at 6.55957 Francs. While the Franc is no longer in circulation, many French stores, restaurants and outlets list prices in both Euros and Francs.
