In Britain, Labour Five Points Up On Tories
/noticias.info/ (Angus Reid - CPOD Global Scan) – The Labour party remains the most popular political organization in Britain, according to a poll by Populus published in The Times. 38 per cent of respondents would vote for Labour in the next general election.
Tony Blair has been Britain’s head of government since 1997. In October, the prime minister announced that he intends to lead the Labour party into the next election, and retire at the end of what would be his third term in office.
The Conservatives are in second place with 33 per cent, followed by the Liberal Democrats with 20 per cent. Britain must renew the House of Commons by June 2006. There is growing speculation that an election will take place in May 2005.
