The next wave of enlargement competitions for posts in the EU institutions is underway
/noticias.info/ On 22 December 2004 the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) announced the latest round of competitions to select potential recruits for the EU institutions from the new Member States. These competitions will cover Administrators (A*7) in the field of European Administration as well as Assistants (B*3) in the fields of European Administration/Human Resources, Financial management and Information Technology. In all EPSO is looking for 1315 successful candidates.
These competitions have been advertised in the national press of the countries concerned and on internet job-boards. They form part of a second wave of enlargement competitions and are the first to target candidates at A*7 and B*3 levels.
For the Administrators’ (A*7) competition a university degree is required together with substantial professional experience gained after graduation. Qualifications and experience must be relevant to the field.
For the Assistants’ (B*7) competitions candidates must either have a relevant post-secondary diploma, or a secondary education diploma and relevant professional experience, gained after obtaining their diploma.
The competitions are open to suitably qualified citizens of the new Member States. Full details, including all eligibility criteria, language requirements and application procedures, can be found in the notices of competition which are available on the EPSO web-site (http://europa.eu.int/epso). Application is exclusively on-line, via the web-site, and is extremely simple and user friendly. Paper applications will be accepted from candidates with disabilities. The closing date for applications is 3 February 2005,12h00, Brussels time. However EPSO would strongly advise candidates not to wait until the last few days before applying.
As in most EPSO competitions, there will be three main stages in the selection procedures: pre-selection tests, written tests and oral examinations. Each stage is eliminatory.
It is of great importance for both the Member States and the European Institutions to have as many suitably qualified and experienced individuals who will be best able to respond to the challenges they will meet working at the heart of Europe.
Once again EPSO would like to ask for the co-operation of the press and media in diffusing the information to all those who may be interested.
