EVERTON: BLUES PLEASED WITH PROGRESS
/noticias.info/ Alan Irvine has admitted that he has been impressed with the progress made during the short stay at the Blues' Austrian training camp.
The squad only started their first session in Styria on Wednesday morning but they are now ahead of schedule as they start their run of friendlies against FC Gamlitz.
Irvine and manager David Moyes plan out the pre-season schedule in absolute detail, knowing exactly what level each individual player should be at what point.
The Assistant boss told evertonfc.com: "We are really pleased. The lads have come back in good condition, they are working very hard and we are actually able to move them on a little bit quicker than we thought.
"Obviously you do take a look and measure where they are at. If you think they are behind where they should be at a particular stage, then you would move back and vice versa."
Even though excellent progress is being made within the squad Irvine knows that it is not without its penalties but fortunately those do not involve anyone missing out on training.
He explained: "Everyone is stiff. When we were at the training ground there were a lot of complaints about stiff backs, stiff hamstrings but it is par for the course in pre-season.
"Everyone has got through the sessions and that is pleasing. It just shows the spirit and determination of the lads. They are all prepared to give everything a go.
"Instead of taking the easy way, which they could do, they are all going for it. They realise the importance of getting a good pre-season under their belt." notas_de_prensa_archivo
