EVERTON: BOSS LOOKING FORWARD TO ACTION

/noticias.info/ David Moyes is looking forward to Everton's first pre-season friendly of the summer this evening.

The Toffees play FC Gamlitz in the Styrian region of Austria tonight and the manager admits that time has passed very quickly from the end of the last Premiership season.

"It's the way it is every year," he said. "We'd like to enjoy last season a bit longer but it all starts again tonight."

Playing a local Austrian team has become something of a habit for Everton and Moyes admitted that these matches are little more than an extension of the training that the players have been doing here in Austria.

"It's really just a training game at the end of what has been a tough week for the players but we will do our best in it," he said.

"I prefer our opening game to just be something that the boys can enjoy without any pressure. We want them to get their boots on again and run around a bit."

As the party prepares to leave the Austrian base and return to the UK, Moyes looked back on another successful trip

"It's been a great week. We came here last year and we really enjoyed it and again it's been a bonus for us and we are happy in our surroundings here," he said. notas_de_prensa_archivo
