After taking delivery of 8 aircraft between 2003 and 2005 (six new generation B 737-800s and two Airbus A321-200s), one Boeing 767 in January 2006, one Boeing 737-700 and one Airbus A321 in March 2006, on April 8, 2006, the national flag carrier received one new generation Boeing 737-800.

The B 737-800 is one of the three variants of the new generation B737 which includes the B737-600, the B737-700 and the B737-800.
This is an airplane offering an improved radius of actions, higher speed, and noise and consumption levels lower than for the conventional type B737s.
It is characterized by the integration of several technological innovations regarding navigation and communications, as well as by a considerable improvement if passenger comfort, thanks to the availability of several extra options.
