At the 2005 Bank of America Colonial, Kenny Perry had one of the best all-around performances of any player last season. Perry ranked in the top 10 in driving distance, driving accuracy, greens in regulation, scrambling, and putting average. Interestingly, Perry was more selective in his attempts to reach the par 5s in two at Colonial Country Club, only attempting to reach the green on a third of his attempts. However, his approach paid off as he was able to hit the green on half of his attempts and made birdie or better on 87.5 percent of the par-5 holes.
• Perry averaged almost 295 yards off the tee, while tying for third in driving accuracy -- ranking first in total driving in the field.
• Among the leaders all season in greens in regulation, Perry hit 77.8 percent of the greens in regulation at the Bank of America Colonial and was fourth in proximity to the hole at 26 feet, 6 inches.
• One-putting almost half of the greens, Perry led the field in putting average and finished seventh in birdie or better conversion percentage.
• Perry went 6 for 7 in sand save opportunities, and his putts on those attempts averaged 4 feet, 3 inches – almost 5 feet closer than his 2005 season average of 10 feet, 4 inches.
• Recording 22 birdies for the week, Perry averaged 5.50 birdies per round, topping his season average of 3.91 birdies per round. notas_de_prensa_archivo
