LIVERPOOL FC: NANDO AND GARCIA GIVE REDS THE EDGE

/noticias.info/ Goals from Fernando Morientes and Luis Garcia have given Liverpool a 2-1 half time advantage over Portsmouth at Fratton Park tonight.
The Reds lead as early as the 4th minute when Morientes ended his personal goal drought and Garcia struck on the stroke of half time to restore their advantage after Kamara had levelled for Pompey.

The Reds almost found themselves behind in the 1st minute when Lua Lua scored via a deflection off Carragher, but they were grateful to see the linesman raise his flag for offside.

That early chance proved to be an early indication of the threat posed by a bouyant Portsmouth and Liverpool required a fine save from Dudek to prevent Kamara giving them the lead before Garcia's
strike.
