Football Europe: Puel puts faith in Lille

/noticias.info/ LOSC Lille Métropole coach Claude Puel has signed a new one-year contract ensuring he will lead the French side into the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League.

Fifty-year high
The 43-year-old, who joined Lille in summer 2002, guided them to second place in Ligue 1 this season, their best finish for 50 years, having also won the UEFA Intertoto Cup and reached the UEFA Cup last 16. Thanks to their runners-up berth behind Olympique Lyonnais, Lille will begin their second Champions League campaign in the group stage.

Staying loyal
