EVERTON: FORSSELL DEAL CLOSE

/noticias.info/ Everton officials have confirmed that they are now close to making Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell their second signing of the close season.

Manager David Moyes has targeted the Finnish forward to bolster his attacking options next term but he still faces opposition from Birmingham City where the 24-year-old spent a long spell on-loan.

Forssell returned to Chelsea from St Andrews last season to recover from injury and Blues Chief Executive Keith Wyness has now revealed that officials from both Goodison and Stamford Bridge are not too far away from agreeing a deal.

He said today: “We haven’t reached agreement yet, but we are not far apart now.”

If a deal is finally agreed between the two clubs them Forssell would be expected to arrive on Merseyside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical examination as soon as possible.

However, he is unable to do that until he has finished international duty with Finland who have a crucial World Cup qualifier against Holland in early June as well as a friendly at home to Denmark. notas_de_prensa_archivo
