LIVERPOOL FC: TNS OFFICIALS OVER THE MOON WITH REDS TIE
/noticias.info/ Officials from Welsh side Total Network Solutions say they are absolutely over the moon about the draw for the first qualifying round of the Champions League against the European champions Liverpool.
There was a loud cheer from TNS representatives when their first draw out of the hat paired them with Liverpool.
TNS Chairman Mike Harris said: "This is magnificent news for the club and we're really looking forward to playing Europe's elite.
"The downside is it makes life difficult for us to progress, but I'm sure our side will want to give a good account of itself."
TNS director Richard Hann has said that the home leg for the Welsh side will be moved away from the club's Recreation Ground, which does not meet UEFA requirements. Rather than the Millennium Stadium, where TNS faced Manchester City in 2003, Hann said: "It's more likely to be the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham.
"We only have a capacity of 2,000 so we're looking at Wrexham I think. Our home games have averaged just under 200 so we're expecting a few more there.
"We're very pleased. It is a good local tie and with good local interest.
"I'd be crazy to say there isn't a huge gulf between the sides. I think we'll be prepared, absolutely up for it. I don't think we'll disgrace ourselves."
Meanwhile TNS general manager Ian Williams said: "You can't get draws better than that one. We did give a loud cheer when our name came out of the hat.
"I think we've got to look at the option of playing the game in Cardiff. We'll consider that at the appropriate time." notas_de_prensa_archivo
