LIVERPOOL FC: PARRY CONFIDENT GERRARD WILL STAY

/noticias.info/ Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry has said he is confident that captain Steven Gerrard will be staying at the club and has told supporters there is no need to panic.
On Monday Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez said he was confident that Gerrard would commit his long term future to Anfield and Parry echoed that sentiment.

Parry said: "There is nothing new about Gerrard but there will be an announcement in due course. We're happy we want Steven to stay and hope he's going to stay and there's no cause for concern on our part.

"We've always said we hope Steven's going to be with us, we want to win trophies and Steven wants to win trophies.

"Captaining us to win European cup, as we've said, was pretty good step in the right direction. Nothings changed since that so of course we're hopeful."

As for proposed new arrivals to join the Rafalution at Anfield, Parry would nout be drawn on speculation.

Parry said: "I have no comment on players at the moment. But there will be soon enough, we are quite happy we'll be making announcements in good time for the season, but there's no immediate pressure - we'll make announcements when we're good and ready." notas_de_prensa_archivo
