CHELSEA FC: UEFA Champions League starts here

/noticias.info/ UEFA make the draw for the first round of the 2005/6 Champions League today, Friday, with the entrants confirmed.

Chelsea go straight into the Group Stage as a second seed. The seeds will be divided into four when the Group Stage draw is made with each of the eight groups getting one club from each seed.

The final seedings can only be concluded when the 16 qualifying teams come through the qualifying rounds.

As it now stands the 16 qualified Group stage teams are: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, Milan, Bayern Munich, Schalke, Lyon, Lille, Benfica, Porto, Olympiakos, PSV Eindhoven, Sparta Prague and Fenerbahçe.

Into the third qualifying round go: Villareal, Real Betis, Man Utd, Everton, Internazionale, Udinese, Werder Bremen, Monaco, Sporting Lisbon, Panathinaikos, Ajax, Slavia Prague, Rangers, Club Brugge, Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk, Rosenborg and Wisla Krakòw.

Entering at the second round stage will be: Trabzonspor, Celtic, Anderlecht, Thun, Dynamo Kiev, Vålerenga, Maccabi Haifa, Rapid Vienna, Partizan Belgrade, CSKA Sofia, Lokomotiv Moskow, Brøndby, Hajduk Split, Malmö, Debreceni and Steau Bucharest.
