ARSENAL: Skulason and Birchall find new clubs
/noticias.info/ Olafur-Ingi Skulason and Adam Birchall have found new clubs after being released by Arsenal.
Skulason has signed a two-year deal with Brentford, who reached the League One play-offs last season and took Southampton to a replay in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.
"I look at this as a very important move for my career, a step up from reserve football, and knowing that Martin had been interested in signing me for a while was a huge compliment for me," said Skulason.
"You always need to improve and, for me, I need to prove that I'm a league player and prove Martin right in that I'm the right player for this club."
Birchall, who enjoyed a productive loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers last season, has agreed a two-year deal with another League Two side - Mansfield Town.
The bustling striker is looking forward to regular first-team football at Field Mill.
"I came to the club and spoke to the chairman and Carlton [Palmer] and they said the right things to me," he said.
"The club seems as though it is going in the right direction and I have fond memories of when I came here with Wycombe and I want to be a part of that.
"when I was on loan at Wycombe last year I realised that I was ready for first team football. It was just a case of finding the right club for me. I think Mansfield and Carlton Palmer are the right move for me to help start my career off." notas_de_prensa_archivo
