AirTran Airways Unveils New AirTran.com Web Site
/noticias.info/ ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 1 -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today unveiled the airline's enhanced Web site, http://www.airtran.com, which includes new customer-friendly features designed to provide more options to travelers and reduce time spent booking or checking in for a flight.
The airline has worked on the development of the new Web site for the past
two years and has conducted hundreds of consumer interviews and usability
tests to determine better ways of meeting customers' travel needs. The
airline's new web site, which was re-done completely with new HTML language and coding, offers a cleaner look with more streamlined pages focusing on customer priorities such as flight status, reservations, flight check-in and sale fares.
On the new http://www.airtran.com site, customers will be able to:
-- See all available fares for any route on one screen (e.g. including web
specials, 14-day advance purchase, 7-day advance purchase, full coach and Business Class).
-- View fares at multiple airports in the same city at one time (e.g. Washington Dulles, Washington Reagan National and Baltimore Washington International airports).
-- Change search dates on the flight results page without having to go back to the first page.
-- Easily print any web page, from flight schedules to baggage standards, in a printer-friendly format.
-- Add an A-Plus Rewards number to reservations during check-in if they
forgot to use it while booking their flight.
-- E-mail the airline's sale fares to family and friends when researching
ticket prices and availability.
-- Search the entire site to locate information.
"With more than 55 percent of our bookings coming direct to airtran.com,
these new features will make the booking experience even easier for the
majority of our customers," stated Kevin Healy, vice president of planning for the airline. "Most importantly, we guarantee that AirTran Airways' lowest fares will always be listed on airtran.com."
"Our customers tell us that one of the primary determinants in their
selection of an airline is the convenience with which they can make their
reservations and check in for their flights," said Tad Hutcheson, the
airline's director of marketing. "Our award-winning web site was already one
of the most convenient in the industry, but we've made it even easier for our business customers and leisure travelers to find the lowest fares and
convenient flight schedules they want."
"Every component on the site was analyzed for its ease-of-use and then
streamlined as necessary," said Heather Johnson, manager of internet strategy.
"Our customers will quickly notice that every step of their experience at
airtran.com has become even easier thanks to this re-designed site."
AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 6,500
friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 500 daily flights to 47
destinations. The airline's hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
Airport, where it is the second largest carrier. AirTran Airways recently
added the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-700 aircraft to create America's youngest all-Boeing fleet. The airline is also the first carrier to install XM
Satellite Radio on a commercial aircraft. For reservations or more
