GERMAN WINGS : Germanwings Launches New Route from Cologne/Bonn to Moscow
Three flights per week for a snip of the price
/noticias.info/ London: July 16 2005 -- From July 16, Germanwings, Germany's premiere low-cost airline, will extend its flight schedule to include a new low-cost route from Cologne/Bonn to Moscow, one of the world's major capitals. The new route is especially exciting for UK customers based in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin - where there are no direct flights to Moscow - who are increasingly using Germanwings Cologne/Bonn base to connect on to other European cities.
Over the past few years Cologne/Bonn airport has risen to become one of the leading low-cost bases for German domestic and European travel. Despite strong competition with Lufthansa's hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, Germanwings low prices cannot be beaten for value.
Germanwings, the largest airline flying out of Cologne/Bonn airport, has been operating a route between Berlin-Schönefeld and Moscow-Vnukovo - the closest airport to Moscow city centre - for the past month. The new flight from Cologne/Bonn to Moscow adds another three frequencies to the Russian capital with flights departing on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Dr. Joachim Klein, Chairman of the Board of Germanwings, said: "Moscow is becoming increasingly popular with both business and leisure travellers from all over Europe. Germanwings low fares will help make travelling to Moscow more affordable and will provide our UK and Irish Travellers with another alternative transport link to Russia!"
