ASA :RegionalLink follows suit with changes to commission structure
/noticias.info/ RegionalLink Airlines founding members Airnorth, Airlines of South Australia and Emu Airways have announced that they will follow suit with other major airlines on travel agent commission restructure effective 1 August 2005.
Domestic travel agency sales will attract the standard 1% commission as adopted across the industry however individual agreements will be negotiated with key agents rewarding loyalty and increased sales activity. International sales will result in 7% commission to agents.
This restructure in commission levels throughout the airline industry has been driven by the continuing reduction in the cost of airfares to consumers; however the high costs in maintaining appropriate distribution systems make the traditional commission levels unsustainable.
After successful internal testing RegionalLink are soon to offer e-ticket to agents utilising Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre and are also evaluating a web based solution which will provide greater flexibility to regional clients and travel agents.
RegionalLink is a national single branded Regional Airline Franchise network, delivering greater efficiencies and new business solutions to Franchisees, helping to ensure long term sustainability of vital regional airline services in Australia.
