UK: GOVERNMENT CONSENTS TO ALTON - PRESTON CANDOVER POWER LINE
/noticias.info/
Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks today gave development consent to Southern Electric Power Distribution for a new 33 kV overhead electricity line to reinforce the local network in Mid Hampshire. The overhead line will travel around 10 km between Alton and Preston Candover and be supported along its length by wooden poles. The remaining 3 km of the connection will be provided by underground cable.
Mr Wicks said:
"Security of supply is important. This line will improve security of supply for electricity consumers in mid Hampshire. I am content that the company has done what it can to mitigate the impacts of the development by placing four stretches of line underground and by careful routeing of the rest."
