"In truth I still don't know, but I hope so. In any case, I think that when a player has the qualities and desire to do well it's not a question of tactical module. However, it's only the coach who decides, so we will see."

At Inter you will find a young player who is already considered one of the best strikers in the world - Adriano. What are you expecting?
"In my career I have had the fortune and great satisfaction of playing with some of the best players in the world. I am here to help my new teammates win as much as possible. I hope I can help Adriano in this sense and I hope I will help him be serene and happy because I think it's fundamental to establish a sincere and direct relationship with your teammates. I hope my experience can help him improve more and become even greater than he already is."

Jorge Valdano once said: "Figo is the leader of a generation without leaders". Are you?
"I'm not interested in being a leader. Each person has his own personality and I know exactly what I want. My philosophy in life is to play football to win so I think everyone can be a leader in a team. The important thing is to do well to succeed in achieving what we're working for."

In recent weeks Liverpool showed great interest in you. Do you think Italian football is better than English football?
"I chose Inter because it's a top-level team, a team of great prestige. I felt loved and respected by Dr Moratti, president Facchetti and the club. The fact that other clubs wanted me isn't that important. What counts now is that I'm here. I thank all the clubs that wanted to sign me. But, and I repeat, this doesn't count now."
