OSCE Mission to Skopje camp promotes inter-ethnic dialogue and youth development
/noticias.info/ SKOPJE, 5 August 2005 - Sixty secondary school students of different ethnic backgrounds from Skopje, Tetovo and Kumanovo communities will take part in a confidence building camp in Ohrid from 7 to 14 August.
"The Mission is pleased to support this joint initiative of the NGO First Childrens Embassy in the World - Medjashi and the Ministry of Education", said Alenka Verbole, the Education Development Co-ordinator from the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje.
"The objective of the project is to provide young people with mediation, inter-ethnic communication and team-building skills, as well as with knowledge in the areas of peace promotion and entrepreneurship."
Nafi Saracini, Civil Society Adviser, from the Delegation of the European Commission, which co-funded the project said the camp would strengthen inter-ethnic dialogue between teachers and pupils, who represent the ethnic diversity of the country. In the camp, the children will learn to appreciate this diversity and will make new friends, he added. notas_de_prensa_archivo
