/noticias.info/
GAZA, Palestine, August 7, 2005 (IPC + Agencies) - - Israeli sources reported on Saturday that Israeli occupation forces killed on Friday night an unidentified Palestinian near the illegal Israeli settlement "Ganei Tal" south of Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military sources claimed the killed Palestinian was going to plant an explosive charge near the settlement, when he was identified by nearby Israeli soldiers, who opened fire at him and three others near him, who fled the scene when the shooting started.

Palestinian sources have not confirmed this story until now.

In the West Bank, Israeli forces heavily assaulted a civilian in a town in Qalqilya province, wounding him severely.

Medical sources said Bashar Qaderi, 20, a student at Al Najah University, was returning to his town of Seer, east of Qalqilya, when Israeli soldiers manning the Beit Iba military checkpoint stopped him and beat him severely on his head and all over his body.

Qaderi's wounds were described as grave, as he was rushed to the Thabet Thabet Hospital in Tulkarem in a coma until this moment.

Two civilians from the town of Beit Aula, west of Hebron, were wounded yesterday night, one seriously, when Israeli soldiers manning a military checkpoint in the area of Beir Jibril opened fire at them.

Doctors at Al Ahli Hospital in Hebron, to where the civilians were transferred, said Mahmoud Al Adam, 24, was treated for gunshot wounds in the chest and back, and his medical condition remains critical. The other civilians, Kamal Al Adam, 34, was treated for a gunshot wound in the waist.

On the other hand, Israeli forces stormed the villages of Beit Ummar and Zaatara, southeast of Bethlehem, as local sources affirmed that a number of Israeli military vehicles stormed the villages early this morning and raided numerous houses then vandalized them.

At the same context, a civilian was reported arrested during an Israeli raid on the western neighborhood of Al Ram Town, north of occupied East Jerusalem, as Israeli soldiers blew up a civilian car at the same area.

Eyewitnesses told WAFA news agency that large forces comprised of Israeli soldiers and members of the notorious "Border Guard" unit, backed by special forces disguised in Palestinian clothes, surrounded a number of buildings at Al Ram amidst heavy gunfire and stun grenade launching.

Mohammed Al Shurbati, a resident of the besieged area, said Israeli soldiers arrested an unidentified man who had moved in not long ago, pointing out that after the arrest Israeli troops detonated a car who was parked 30 meters away from his house.

This raid came two days after a raid on the town's mosque by Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers, who detained worshippers that night and interrogated them. The officers also recorded their phone and mobile numbers, and inquired about their addresses.

In Jenin province, Israeli forces stormed the eastern neighborhood of Jenin City, along with the town of Arraba, and raided several houses and searched them.

Meanwhile, Palestinian media sources reported that Israeli bulldozers have been working around the clock to close the Arraba-Yaabad road in Jenin, by bulldozing the road's edges and closing the entrances with sand piles. notas_de_prensa_archivo
