PALESTINE: Sinnokrot Explains the Economy Ministry Plans During and After Israeli Pullout

GAZA, Palestine, August 7, 2005 (IPC) ---Economy Minister, Mazen Sinnokrot, announced the preparations set by his ministry to revive the Palestinian economy after the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza Strip and to cope with the burdens of the next decisive stage in all domains of the Palestinian life.
Minister Sinnokrot pointed out, in a press conference held on Sunday at Gaza- based International Press Center (IPC), that the ministry has enacted a slew of laws and regulations to pay incentives for the investors to com to Gaza Strip to implement constructive projects
"We definitely rely on the Palestinian private sector as well as the Arab, intentional alike to inject momentum in such vital investment sector," Sinnokrot said.
He added that the ministry is due to held several meeting with the counterparts in the neighboring countries Egypt and Jordan on the issue of marketing the products and set up preliminaries for an independent Palestinian economy , side away of the surveillance to the Israeli economy
As for the coordinative measures regarding the disengagement, Sinnokrut said "there is a marathon of the meetings to conclude out a set of coordinative measures and procedures in particular with the Quartet Envoy Wolfenshon and the technical teams."
"The Palestinian will assume their responsibilities properly and fully in order to evade Israel to claim any misconducts on behalf of the PNA. "
"The Palestinian standpoints conform to the international ones, especially those of the Quartet's envoy Wolfensohn, regarding the lifting of disrupting Israeli measures in border crossings, in order to revive the Palestinian economy, "Minister of Economy said.
Sinnokrut also said that President Mahmoud Abbas will deliver a speech before the Palestinian legislative council (PLC) on Tuesday to come to demonstrate the readiness of the Palestinian leadership and people during and after the Israeli pullout from the illegal settlements.
The ministry plan included 13 strategic goals directed towards combating poverty and unemployment.
The Minister declared that a Palestinian delegation including representatives of the Finance and Economy ministries would meet an Israeli delegation under European auspices to discuss the economic measures after the withdrawal.

Sinnokrot indicated.
As for the border crossing, Sinnkrot stated that negotiations were underway to run the crossing only by the Palestinians and the Egyptians and the PNA is seeking to turn Rafah crossing accessible by the individual and commodities.
As regards Eretz crossing, linking Gaza Strip with Israel, Sinnkrot disclosed that the Palestinian government decided to turn Eretz crossing into an industrial zone run by the Palestinians.
In the meeting with 40 investors and the commission of the industrial cities "we have proposed to establish a joint industrial zone at the Jordan Valley and another one at the border area with Egypt, "minister of Economy said.
Sinnkort said" with no a solution for the border crossing, Gaza will be a big prison." He also added that if there is any transitional agreement, that should be with international assurances and limited to a final solution and a third international party is present to run the crossings
