Football Europe: Liverpool hampered by Traore injury

/noticias.info/ Charlton Athletic FC have completed the signing of Norwegian goalkeeper Thomas Myhre on a one-year deal. The former Sunderland AFC and Everton FC custodian has been drafted in by Alan Curbishley after first-choice Dean Kiely was ruled out for the first six weeks of the season with a fractured finger, leaving Danish international Stephan Andersen as the club's only fit senior goalkeeper. Myhre had been playing in his native Norway with Fredrikstad FK on a match-by-match basis.

In Spain, former Real Madrid CF midfield player José Emilio Amavisca has decided to retire after 14 years in the Primera División. The 34-year-old reportedly turned down numerous offers, preferring instead to quit on a high note. With Madrid, the former Spanish international collected two league titles, one UEFA Champions League and a European/South American Intercontinental Cup. He later joined RC Deportivo La Coruña, with whom he added a Copa del Rey winners' medal.

Real Racing Club Santander have unveiled Óscar Serrano as their latest signing on a free transfer from RCD Espanyol. The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract at Santander, having scored twice in 30 appearances for Espanyol last term.

Sevilla FC vice-president Miguel Aguilar Martínez has died at the age of 75 after suffering a heart-attack on Saturday evening. Martínez was the club's vice-president between 1982 and 1995, before returning for a second stint in 2003.

Valencia CF and Spain youth international David Silva has agreed to join RC Celta de Vigo on loan for the new season. The 19-year-old left winger had been expected to join Bernd Schuster's Getafe CF but opted instead for a move to Galicia.

Meanwhile, Moldovan league winners FC Sheriff have claimed their third consecutive Moldovan Super Cup after sweeping aside Moldovan Cup holders FC Nistru Otaci 4-0. Oleg Gumenyuk scored twice either side of a strike from Alexandru Epureanu for the Champions League hopefuls, before Aleksei Kuchuk completed the scoring in stoppage time. No other side has ever won the Moldovan season curtain raiser since it’s inception in 2003.

Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice have signed Zambian international midfielder Rainford Kalaba from Afrisports FC for an undisclosed fee. The 19-year-old has been brought in as a replacement for Ivorian Serge Dié, who signed a one-year deal with Turkish side Kayserispor. notas_de_prensa_archivo
