FIFA World Cup: Stoitchkov seeks Brazilian touch

/noticias.info/ Bulgarian national coach Hristo Stoitchkov has called up PFC CSKA Sofia's Brazilian-born defender Tiago Silva for the friendly match against Turkey on 17 August in Sofia.

Bulgarian citizenship
The left-back's call-up follows a succession of strong performances last term when he helped build the defensive bedrock upon which CSKA Sofia claimed their second title in three years - conceding just 16 goals in 30 matches. He has now lived in Bulgaria for four years and could become the first non-European player to represent the national side after receiving Bulgarian citizenship in 2004.

Quartet rested
Stoitchkov has also included PFC Levski Sofia forward Milan Koprivarov and Tsvetan Genkov of PFC Lokomotiv Sofia for the first time, while captain Stilian Petrov of Celtic FC, ACF Fiorentina's Valeri Bozhinov, Vladimir Manchev of Levante UD and Kayserispor custodian Dimitar Ivankov have all been rested.
