Football Europe: Hearts plump for Fyssas
/noticias.info/ Greece left-back Panagiotis Fyssas has joined Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian FC from Portuguese champions SL Benfica.
Out of favour
The 32-year-old Fyssas moved to Lisbon in January 2004, and capped a fruitful start with a goal in Benfica’s Portuguese Cup final victory over FC Porto. He was subsequently part of the Greece side which won UEFA EURO 2004™ before falling out of favour last season under Eagles coach Giovanni Trapattoni, making just 16 SuperLiga appearances.
Keeper in
The Edinburgh club also completed a two-year deal for goalkeeper Steve Banks from English side Gillingham FC today. The 33-year-old arrives at Tynecastle as cover for No1 Craig Gordon. notas_de_prensa_archivo
