UEFA Cup: Berberovic makes Bulgaria switch

/noticias.info/ Bosnia-Herzegovina midfield player Jemal Berberovic has joined PFC Litex Lovech, and could be in line to make his debut against NK Rijeka in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round on Thursday.

Frustrating spell
The 23-year-old moves from Bundesliga outfit Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He was never able to break into the first team at the BayArena though, and was confined to the Leverkusen A side last season after returning from a loan spell with 2.Bundesliga outfit VfL Osnabruck in 2003/04.

International credentials
Berberovic has made a bigger impact at international level, earning six caps and firmly establishing himself in the Bosnia- Herzegovina side. Litex coach Ljupko Petrovic hopes the youngster can replicate that form at club level, and if he is registered in time, Berberovic could make his bow against Rijeka in Bulgaria in two days. notas_de_prensa_archivo
