EVERTON: IMPORTANT NOTICE
/noticias.info/ Everton Football Club will be observing a 'period of silence' on Saturday at Goodison Park in memory of murdered teenager, Anthony Walker.
Fans, officials and players will all pay a silent tribute before the kick-off in the FA Premier League fixture against Manchester United.
"The horrific way in which young Anthony lost his life affected everyone in the country," said Everton's Race & Diversity Manager, Alan Johnson.
"This is the first real public opportunity that we, as a football club, have had to pay suitable respect and I am sure that all our supporters, and those of United, will join us in observing a period of silence before the match."
Anthony was the victim of a violent, racist attack in the Huyton area of Liverpool in July and Saturday's silence has been welcomed by football's anti- racism group, Kick It Out.
Piara Powar, director of the group, said: "At a difficult time for the family I am sure the support they are receiving from sporting organisations and football fans on Merseyside is very welcome." notas_de_prensa_archivo
