EVERTON: PER: INJURY WON'T STOP ME PLAYING
/noticias.info/ Per Kroldrup is eager to make his Goodison bow against Manchester United despite carrying a niggling groin injury.
The problem has not prevented the Danish international training this week but the £5m summer signing from Udinese could require minor surgery at some stage to eradicate the problem.
But that is not an issue for the 26-year-old right now, so eager is he to figure for the Blues in the opening games of the new Premiership campaign.
He told evertonfc.com: "It is going to be a great game to start the season and I am just hoping to play. I will see how I go in training but I am hopeful it will not stop me being available to play.
"I can still train but I am feeling some pains lately.
"I had a bit of a problem at the end of last season but I have been training well during the summer to reinforce the area and I have had no problems during pre-season. But it came up a week ago and now I will wait and see how it goes.
"I definitely don't want to miss this game. It is a very big game and I am really hoping to be in the team.
"It was very exciting to be at the ground the other night. Everybody knew it was a big game. We did well but didn't get the result we deserved.
"The atmosphere didn't surprise me, it lived up to what I had been told about English football. But it was good to experience it for myself.
"We want to win the game against Manchester and get a good start."
Now Kroldrup wants to enjoy that atmosphere from on the pitch, rather than the sidelines.
He has been happy with his integration into the Everton squad but he wants to test himself in the league.
He adds: "I need to get some games in the Premiership before I can talk about how my game has developed.
"I am quite happy with how it has gone so far. Obviously, the game here is a bit more physical and that is something I want to work on in my own game." notas_de_prensa_archivo
