EVERTON FC: BOSS: JOE WILL LEARN FROM ERROR

/noticias.info/ Everton boss David Moyes believes Joseph Yobo will heed valuable lessons from the mistake which gifted Wayne Rooney Manchester United's second goal on Saturday.

The former Everton striker capitalised on a stray pass from Yobo just 28 seconds into the second half to fire home beyond Nigel Martyn from 12 yards.

It was a killer blow to sustain for the Blues, who despite an impressive first-half performance had gone in 1-0 down at the interval because of a Ruud van Nistelrooy goal in the 43rd minute.

Moyes was frustrated by giving away such a soft goal but believes the defender, who will be on international duty with Nigeria this week, will learn from it.

He said: "Joseph has not said much after the game. But you know that you don't play square across the goal as a centre-half.

"Centre-halves are there to kick the ball up the park and head it away. If you can add a little more to it, fine.

"But first of all you should do your job. He knows I am disappointed we gave them an opportunity.

"I wish we had been given a tap-in goal. I can't remember us being given a tap-in goal."
