VIRGIN ATLANTIC ANNOUNCES START DATE FOR SERVICES TO JAMAICA

/noticias.info/ Virgin Atlantic Airways is delighted to announce a launch date of 3 July 2006 for its new Montego Bay service. The direct flight will operate twice a week between London Gatwick and Montego Bay on Mondays and Wednesdays. Flight VS065 will depart from Gatwick at 09.00 and arrive into Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay at 12.50. The return flight VS066 will depart Montego Bay at 15:50, arriving into Gatwick at 06.40 the following morning.

Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of Virgin Atlantic, said:

"I am delighted that Virgin Atlantic is now offering passengers a direct link between London and Montego Bay. The island of Jamaica has been on our wish list for a number of years and we are delighted that it is a wish that has finally come true.

"Montego Bay is the tourism capital of Jamaica are we sure that our twice-weekly services will be very popular with holidaymakers as well as Jamaicans who would like to visit family and friends.

"We would like to thank the Jamaican Government for their cooperation and agreement in the set up of this route."

Amanda Wills, Managing Director of Virgin Holidays commented:

We already have a fantastic programme in Jamaica, however the addition of Virgin Atlantic's new service will give our customers even more choice and flexibility of travelling with an award-winning airline. Our extensive selection of holidays is set to expand even further in Jamaica highlighting our continued support to Virgin Atlantic and the Jamaican Government whilst offering the most exciting range of holidays in the market."

The service will be operated by a Boeing 747-400 and will be fitted with Virgin Atlantic's award-winning Upper Class Suite. The aircraft will be configured with 14 Upper Class seats, 58 Premium Economy seats and 379 economy seats.

The Upper Class Suite consists of a reclining leather seat for take off, a place to sit and eat a proper meal opposite your partner, the longest fully flat bed in the world with a proper mattress for sleeping on, a private onboard bar to drink at with your friends and a private massage area. The Upper Class experience also includes limo service to and from the airport, Drive Thru Check In, the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, the restaurant style inflight Freedom menu and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system.

Virgin Atlantic offers a unique product for Premium Economy passengers. Passengers can enjoy dedicated check and priority boarding. The Premium Economy seat offers a wider, more comfortable seat with more leg room, a glass of champagne on take off, a choice of liqueurs to follow dinner and state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system.

The launch of this route, in addition to Virgin Atlantic's new route to Dubai which will be launched in March 2006, will bring the airline's total number of destinations to twenty-eight by next summer. Fares to Jamaica with Virgin Atlantic will be announced shortly. notas_de_prensa_archivo
