Newest Delta Connection Carrier Increases Customers’ Options for Non-Stop Travel to Orlando

Freedom Airlines to open new routes between Orlando and six destinations

/noticias.info/ ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 15, 2005 – As fall brings cooler temperatures, Delta Air Lines’ (NYSE: DAL) customers flying to, from and throughout the Sunshine State will discover a host of new flights from which to choose. Beginning in October, Freedom Airlines, Delta’s newest Delta Connection carrier, will offer new non-stop service between Orlando and six destinations: Austin, Texas; Charlottesville, Va.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Jackson, Miss.; and Northwest Arkansas Regional, Ark. Additionally, Delta Connection carriers plan to increase daily service between Orlando and nine more markets by December.
“Delta is continuing to respond to our customers’ requests for more non-stop flights to their favorite Florida destinations,” said. J.T. Fisher, president and CEO, Delta Connection, Inc. “Thanks to the addition of Freedom Airlines to the Delta Connection program, we are able to connect more of our customers in the Southeast and Midwest to some of the world’s leading vacation venues in Orlando.”
To celebrate the new service, Delta is offering customers special low introductory sale fares to invite them to fly non-stop to Orlando this fall and winter. Customers need to hurry because tickets must be purchased by Sept. 16, 2005, with all travel completed by Dec. 15, 2005.

Additionally, by December, Delta customers in nine cities that already enjoy non-stop service to Orlando will benefit from increased daily flights. These cities are Birmingham, Ala. (Oct. 24); Columbus, Ohio (Oct. 1); Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Nov. 30); Huntsville, Ala. (Oct. 31); Little Rock, Ark. (Oct. 10); Miami (Oct. 9); Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 10); Pensacola, Fla. (Oct. 10); and Raleigh-Durham, N.C. (Oct. 24).
Since January 2005, Delta has expanded its service to, from and within Florida, adding 111 daily flights in 31 markets in the United States and the Caribbean. With Freedom Airlines’ new service, departures from Orlando will jump 14 percent, with 139 daily flights to 46 destinations. The additional flights further strengthen Delta’s position as the number one airline to and from Florida.

Freedom Airlines will operate its new and expanded service from Orlando with Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet aircraft.

Tickets cost $5 more if purchased from Delta over the telephone or $10 more if purchased at an airport or city ticket office, and these amounts are nonrefundable. Travel agents may impose an additional service charge for ticketing. Tickets are non-transferable. Seats are limited and fares may not be available on all flights or in all markets.
