Gate Gourmet/TGWU dispute: British Airways' statement

/noticias.info/ We have been in commercial discussions with Gate Gourmet in good faith since April in an attempt to help it resolve its financial difficulties and secure its future.

We have had a deal on the table since mid-July that would have secured an improved and extended relationship with Gate Gourmet.

We offered a two-year extension to the contract to provide Gate Gourmet with business stability. This would have secured Gate Gourmet's deal with British Airways until 2010.

We also offered to increase the value of our annual contract.

We had understood that Gate Gourmet was happy with these new terms and, if coupled with the efficiencies agreed with officials from the Transport and General Workers Union, this would have secured the future of the company. notas_de_prensa_archivo
