ICELANDAIR:Traffic Figures for July 2005
/noticias.info/ Icelandair had record passenger traffic figures in July when over 214 thousand passengers traveled with the airline, an increase of 16,2% from July 2004. This is the highest number for a period of one month in the history of the company and corresponds to transporting over 70% of the Icelandic nation in one month. However, that is not the case as majority of the passengers reside outside of Iceland. On average, Icelandair transported almost seven thousand passengers each day in July. The capacity (ASK) in July increased by 23% compared to the same month last year and sales (RPK) increased by 23,2%, resulting in passenger load factor of 86,6%, up by 0,1 percentage point from last year.
In the first seven months of the year, Icelandair's passenger traffic figures have increased by 13,5% from last year, capacity by 14,3%, and load factor is up by 2,3 p.p.
Air Iceland
Air Iceland's domestic traffic decreased by 3% in July, total of almost 29 thousand. From the beginning of the year, passenger traffic figures have increased by 4, 6%.
Icelandair Cargo
Icelandair Cargo transported 10,7% less cargo tons in July, compared to the same month last year or 2800 tonnes. In the first seven months of the year, Icelandair Cargo's transport has decreased by 1,8%.
Loftleidir-Icelandic
Block hours increased 42,6% in July and have increased 21,7% in the first seven months of 2005.
Ragnhildur Geirsdóttir, President and CEO of FL GROUP says: “The record number of passengers traveling with Icelandair in July is certainly a pleasant result and reflects the effort of the Icelandair employees who have together increased the number of passengers traveling with the airline immensely this year. Decrease in export from Iceland reduces the number of tons transported with Icelandair Cargo but the increase in charter operations at Loftleidir-Icelandic is in accordance with more charter flight agreements. notas_de_prensa_archivo
