EVERTON: TIE STILL NERVOUS

/noticias.info/ Chinese international Li Tie has admitted he is still wary of breaking down again as he bids to complete his rehabilitation and return to the first team.

Despite the midfielder completing the full pre-season schedule with no reported problems he is anxious to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate incident that occurred during a reserve game with Bolton in January.

It was a major setback for the 27 year-old that put his recovery on hold for months and only now is it looking like his long-terms problems are finally over.

But he is still nervous when involved in matches and though he continues to make major improvements he is careful about unnecessarily pushing the more vulnerable parts of his body.

Tie, who played in the reserves 3-2 win over Liverpool in midweek, told evertonfc.com: “I had not played for 18 months and from a physical point of view my ankle is the weakest position of my injured leg.

“But it’s really getting better and better. After the seven matches I have played since the beginning of this season, I am very happy with the improvement.

“I still have to be very careful during the match. I try my best to avoid the strike if unnecessary. When you are not totally fit for the match that is the easiest way to be injured, so it involves a lot of concentration.”

Tie’s appearance in Tuesday’s mini-derby was watched by Blues Boss David Moyes and the player himself is happy that his manager is taking an interest in his recovery.

He added: “Everyone was happy to see our manager there, including myself.

“He came into the dressing room after the match, which is not usual for him, and he told us that he was happy with the result.

“The manager also said that this result came at the right time, because the whole club needs good results at all levels.

“The first team played two big matches last week with some good performances, but we have not managed the results, so hopefully the match on Tuesday will be huge encouragement for everyone.” notas_de_prensa_archivo
