JUVENTUS : Super Cup goes to Inter

Second half starts with Juventus attacking dangerously on 5’ with a distance shot by Ibrahimovic, on 11’ with a fine combination between the Swede and Trezeguet and on 12’ with Vieira’s header over a cross by Camoranesi that hits the post. On 15’ Adriano engages Chimenti and on 22’ Martins is intercepted well by Cannavaro. Few minutes on and Juventus is back to the front on 25’ with Camoranesi serving Ibrahimovic who nods the ball over the crossbar, and on 27’ with Del Piero, sent in for Camoranesi, served close to the goal line sending high. In the last quarter of an hour attempts for Juventus by Nedved (34’) and Ibrahimovic (46’), both out of target, for Inter Veron and Pizarro, Chimenti saves effortlessly. Extra time required.

After 4’ into the extra time’s first half Del Piero strikes a great right legged shot that unfortunately beats on Emerson positioned in front of the goal line. On 6’ is Inter, instead, reaching advantage: Adriano turns from far and moves the ball back to Veron who running to the the edge of the area strikes behind Chimenti (0-1). Reaction by Juventus with Del Piero’s free kick nearly missed goal bound by Zalayeta, in for Trezeguet. During second half of extra time the Bianconeri try to equalize, Capello sends in Mutu for Zebina, but result don’t change.
