EUROLEAGUE: Vanterpool joins CSKA!

The only team to have reached the last three Final Fours, CSKA Moscow, has added another star, swingman David Vanterpool, making official a signing that was in the air all summer. Vanterpool (194, 32) reached Moscow as CSKA's training camp opened to sign a one-year deal with the option to extend it until the end of the 2006-07 season. Vanterpool arrives from Montepaschi Siena, where he averaged 11.7 points, 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 19 Euroleague games last season. He helped Siena win the Italian league title and make it to the Euroleague Final Four in 2004. "First of all, I am very excited about the opportunity to play for such a great organization as CSKA," Vanterpool said upon his arrival. "I am excited about coming to Moscow, which is a great city, and of course I am glad to play for coach Messina in his team. I hope I can make the team better and to help the team to reach the goals which we set to ourselves."
