The Team McLaren Mercedes team began a two day test at Silverstone today, with Alex Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa both present at the Northamptonshire circuit.
Alex was behind the wheel of an MP4-20. This morning he was working on suspension development and set-up work, and this afternoon focused his programme on testing the prime and option Michelin tyres for the forthcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
Alex completed his programme with no problems and was second fastest man on the circuit with a time of 1m17.109s. He completed 68 laps.
Pedro was also behind the wheel of an MP4-20 which was running for the first time with a Mercedes-Benz V8 engine. Pedro and the test team made steady progress throughout the day, with long breaks in between running as the engineers analysed the data and made software changes. Pedro will continue the programme tomorrow. Pedro completed 38 laps of the circuit with a best time of 1m24.477s. notas_de_prensa_archivo
