EVERTON : BEATTIE STILL NOT FIT
/noticias.info/ James Beattie remains sidelined for Everton’s last ever visit to Highbury on Monday night.
The Blues striker has suffered a recurrence of a toe injury that has hampered his season and is again forced to watch from the sidelines.
Beattie’s absence is, of course, a blow to the Blues, who are desperate for a good showing in North London after a disappointing start to the domestic and European campaigns.
There is also the added incentive of making amends for the demoralising defeat against the Gunners at the end of last season when David Moyes’s men were thumped 7-0.
The Blues Boss, however, will have to return to the scene of his biggest defeat without Beattie and some of his most experienced performers.
Matteo Ferrari
Matteo Ferrari is waiting for his debut.
Lee Carsley (knee), Alessandro Pistone (knee), Per Kroldrup (groin), and Gary Naysmith (ankle) are all long-term casualties and will miss the game.
Young striker James Vaughan is also out with a knee problem and new signing Andy van Der Meyde is yet to make his debut because of a groin problem.
Other new recruit Matteo Ferrari is also waiting to make his bow and Moyes may be ready to hand the versatile defender his chance against Arsene Wenger’s side.
Everton from: Martyn, Wright, Yobo, Weir, Arteta, Bent, Ferguson, Davies, McFadden, Li Tie, Kilbane, Cahill, Neville, Osman, Hibbert, Ferrari, Valente, Hughes, Anichebe.
