London 2012 win Pride of Bitain award
London's succesful bid campaign has recieved a Pride of Britain award for outstanding achievement in bringing the 2012 Games to London.
/noticias.info/ Judges said the "outstanding dedication and professionalism of the Olympic Bid Committee recognised the country's passion for sport, and in hosting the Games have brought home the greatest prize."
Kelly Holmes, who hosted the 6 July party in Trafalgar Square, collected the award on behalf of London 2012.
London 2012 Chairman Sebastian Coe said: ""We are really proud to have recieved this award, alongside so many national heroes. The pride in Britain was the key part of our campaign and to be recognised in this way is a great honour."
The Pride of Britain awards were created to celebrate the achievements of Britain's national heroes.
The seventh annual ceremony was hosted by Carol Vorderman and attended by over 100 stars from the worlds of showbusiness, sport and politics.
The 18 winners included an eight-year-old girl who became Britain's youngest midwife after helping her mum deliver her brother at home. notas_de_prensa_archivo
