INTER: WOME: "THE TRUTH ABOUT THAT PENALTY"
/noticias.info/ APPIANO GENTILE - Cameroon left-back Pierre Wome held a press conference on his return to Angelo Moratti Sports Centre today to talk about the events related to his penalty miss in Saturday's World Cup qualifying match against Egypt.
Wome, have you received messages of solidarity from your team-mates?
"Some of my national team-mates have called me, and others haven't. I have only just arrived here at Inter, but a few people have already called me."
We have read Eto'o's comments and it seems like he's blaming you. What do you think?
"I was really hurt by it. I tried to call him and I left him a message on his answerphone at ten o'clock this morning, explaining that I would speak in a press conference at three. I arrived in Appiano a bit late because I was waiting for him to call. If the call hasn't arrived then it means that he said what was written."
It's certainly not a nice way to behave...
"Apart from the fact that what he said isn't nice, it's not even true. No one wanted to take that penalty. No one. Neither Eto'o nor our captain, because they knew what could have happened if they missed. I have always had the courage and I went to the spot." notas_de_prensa_archivo
