PGATOUR.com: How did you get started in the game?
Chalmers: My father, John, brought me to the local golf course with him when I was 13.
PGATOUR.com: Who would be in your dream foursome and why?
Chalmers: My dad, Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson. I’d include my dad because I’d want to share something so special with him.
PGATOUR.com: What do you think will be the biggest difference between the Nationwide Tour and PGA TOUR?
Chalmers: Obviously, the golf courses will be much tougher and the depth of fields will be much greater. The golf is played at a much higher standard.
Chalmers: The finals of Qualifying School in 1998. I was in 10th position going into the final round but I remember how I felt that day. I knew what was at stake.
PGATOUR.com: Do you have any golf superstitions?
Chalmers: Absolutely none (laughing) unless you consider carrying two tiny rocks around in my bag a superstition. The rocks say peace and luck. My wife gave them to me.
PGATOUR.com: When did you realize you were headed to the PGA TOUR -- and how did you celebrate?
Chalmers: After I won at (the Albertsons Boise Open Presented by First Health). I had a few beers and ate a nice dinner with some friends.
PGATOUR.com: What would you like people to know about you?
Chalmers: That I’m just an average guy plodding along out here trying to make a living.
PGATOUR.com: What's the best advice you've ever gotten about the game? And has anyone given you advice about next year?
Chalmers: My father once told me after I left school that he would be happy to support me in my pursuit of this game as long as I treated it as a job. I took that to heart and believe I have a good work ethic and approach to what I do. And I’ve been out there before so I know what to expect.
PGATOUR.com: What courses are you looking forward to playing the most next year?
Chalmers: All of them actually.
PGATOUR.com: What will you splurge on with your first big check on TOUR?
Chalmers: I haven’t thought about it. I’m afraid I have too many bills at the moment from this year. Maybe I’ll pay them off. notas_de_prensa_archivo
