SOUTHERN AFRICA TOUR: Clark and Immelman return to form at Algarve World Cup
/noticias.info/ South Africa’s Tim Clark and Trevor Immelman have powered ahead at the Algarve World Cup in Portugal, carding five-under-par 67 to climb to a share of 14th at the midway point of the tournament.
Clark and Immelman fired four birdies and an eagle in the second round Foursomes competition to finish with nine-under-par 135 to be tied for 14th alongside Americans Stuart Cink and Jack Johnson.
Sweden, Wales and England share the lead at the conclusion of the second round with a total of 16-under-par 128.
But the big story of the day is the explosive performance of the Argentine team who shot a phenomenal tournament record 61 for the Foursomes competition.
South African fans shouldn’t lose heart. A forecast that calls for heavy rain and high winds on Saturday should sort things out even more.
Tournament officials moved tee times up in anticipation of the inclement weather, and players will be sent off two tees for the Four-ball competition.
