PGA TOUR: Schultz learns of promotion on final hole of season
/noticias.info/ Editor's note: This is the 12th in a series of Q&As spotlighting members of the Nationwide Tour's 2005 graduating class. This installment features Jason Schultz , who finished 15th on the money list with $230,407.
PGATOUR.com: How did you get started in the game?
Schultz: My grandfather, Bob Buschmeir, brought me with him to the golf course when I was 10.
PGATOUR.com: Who would be in your dream foursome and why?
Schultz: My grandfather, my brother Ryan and Jack Nicklaus. What a great experience that would be.
PGATOUR.com: What do you think will be the biggest difference between the Nationwide Tour and PGA TOUR?
Schultz: The first thing that comes to mind is the atmosphere. The galleries will be bigger, brighter and better. I’m looking forward to playing before large audiences.
PGATOUR.com: What has been your most nervous moment in golf, and why?
Schultz: Hopefully, that’s still to come. And I will welcome that moment where I’m so nervous my hands are sweating.
PGATOUR.com: Do you have any golf superstitions?
Schultz: I always mark the ball with a quarter, usually tails side up.
PGATOUR.com: When did you realize you were headed to the PGA TOUR -- and how did you celebrate?
Schultz: Actually, when I holed out the last putt at the Nationwide Tour Championship. It was a real battle to get to that place. As far as celebrating, I’m looking forward to just hanging out with my wife and child the next two months before the season gets going again.
PGATOUR.com: What would you like people to know about you?
Schultz: That my family and friends are the most important things in my life.
PGATOUR.com: What's the best advice you've ever gotten about the game? And has anyone given you advice about next year?
Schultz: I’m not really sure who told me this, but it sure seems to apply to the game at this level. It’s ‘have fun and enjoy the walk.’ I haven’t received any advice yet, but I will actively seek out some before the season starts.
PGATOUR.com: What courses are you looking forward to playing the most next year?
Schultz: Pebble Beach. I’ve always wanted to play there.
PGATOUR.com: What will you splurge on with your first big check on TOUR?
Schultz: I’m going to buy my mom a car. Whatever model she wants. notas_de_prensa_archivo
