PSV: Nineteen players called up for provisional squad

/noticias.info/ The PSV technical staff have called up a nineteen-man provisional squad for the domestic league game against ADO Den Haag in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium on Sunday afternoon. One player will be dropped from the squad, following the Saturday morning training session.

Jefferson Farfán has also received a call-up, in spite of a vicious knock that he picked up during the clash against Schalke in Gelsenkirchen last Wednesday night. "He is making a quick recovery and is most anxious to start", announced Guus Hiddink during the weekly press briefing at De Herdgang training base. "He absolutely wants to make an appearance. Sometimes we have to be cautious with him, but he is so strong, also from a mental point of view”. Hiddink will announce the final squad on Saturday and one player will be dropped anyway. One more training session is scheduled for Saturday, probably in the Eindhoven Philips Staduim.

Cocu
Hiddink has no worries as to Phillip Cocu. "He is one of these players that seem to be available for each and every game. I am not worried about him”.
Representatives of the press inquired after the interest PSV are allegedly having in the young Spanish defender Pla of Valencia. Hiddink replied that it was ‘premature’ and added that PSV are biding their time.

Another topic was the development Arouna Koné is making in Eindhoven. "He is eager and is a menace to many a defence because of his speed and strength. But he is not the prolific goal scorer Romario once was. He should make his decisions on the pitch more quickly and not try to find a solution that might be even more pleasing. We should allow him to make progress in a quiet manner, however, with sometimes a little bit of pressure from our side.”
