PGA TOUR: Woods reinjures ankle
/noticias.info/ LA QUINTA, Calif. -- The world's No. 1 player, Tiger Woods, aggravated an injury to his left ankle in the MERRILL LYNCH SKINS GAME Pro-Am Friday at Trilogy Golf Club.
Woods, who injured the ankle a week ago in Japan, still plans to join defending champion Fred Couples, Annika Sorenstam and Fred Funk on Saturday in the first nine holes of the $1 million event to be televised by ABC Sports.
Woods reinjured the ankle on the eighth hole and came off after nine holes to ice it down.
"Tiger iced his ankle and will continue to ice it," said Woods' agent Mark Steinberg. "He intends to play this weekend."
The first nine holes of the MERRILL LYNCH SKINS GAME will be played at 9 a.m. PT Saturday and the final nine will be held Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. PT.
ABC Sports will televise the event Saturday from 1-3:30 p.m. ET and Sunday from 3:30-6 p.m. ET. The 23rd edition of the event is a joint venture of ESPN Regional Television, Inc. and Trans World International (TWI).
Tickets remain on sale and are available at the gate at Trilogy Golf Club. Saturday’s tickets are $50 and Sunday’s final round tickets at $30.
