CHELSEA FC: Mourinho: Best will live on

/noticias.info/ As a schoolboy growing up in Portugal, José Mourinho didn’t have the opportunity to see George Best play in the flesh. However in paying tribute to the late football legend, the Chelsea manager confirms that Best’s impact spread far and wide.

“I never saw him play but I grew quite tired of my father’s stories about him, so I understand the player he was,” said Mourinho as he reflected on Best’s passing.

“Of course I saw videos of him playing and I was never tired of seeing those videos. I like to say about this kind of person that they never die.

“They never die because what they leave behind doesn’t disappear. I can see, for example, my children in ten years’ time watching a George Best video so he never dies.”

Chelsea fans, along with Portsmouth supporters, paid their respects to Best with a round of spontaneous applause and the singing of his name during a minute's reflection prior to Saturday evening's game.
